The Project is over, at least for now. I left Kushimoto yesterday to have a last minute fun and business here in Japan before returning to Texas A&M.
The three weeks that we stayed in Kushimoto felt long while I was there, but now I feel it was very short. If I could, I would have stayed longer. I wanted to explore the town and the area. This was the first time for me to visit this region. I though there would be more free time to go out to town, but that was a mistake. Actually, it wasn't bad. I worked a lot, but I enjoyed the task that was given to me.
We finished the last day of diving! Now the time in Kushimoto is almost over. I have to wash my diving gears and packed them. We had a birthday party for the captain’s daughter. We went out to a restaurant across from the super market. After that, I took photos of the artifacts that we raised. My plastic tripod didn’t work well, and the lighting inside the room was not the best setting for artifacts photography. However, I somehow managed to take photos. These should be good for record keeping, but not good for publication. I guess I should have spent more time on setting up, but there were two reasons that I decided not to put too much time on these images. First, Akagi san said he would like to take photos of the artifacts tomorrow morning. He is an excellent photographer, and I know he can take a perfect photos. Another reason is that I was in a hurry. I was invited to go to Karaoke-Bar with the Japanese tam member. So I finished taking photos, call the Taxi, and joined my Japanese friends at the Bar HanaHana
In a few hours we leave the Kushimoto Royal Hotel. A representative of the mayor's office will accompany us on the train to the JAL Hotel at Osaka Airport, where Kondo made reservations for us. Although I stopped diving several years ago, I am really glad I came to see how this new INA project is going, and I was equally impressed by the organization that Tufan put together, and the wonderful hospitality of the people here. So, sayonara, Kushimoto! I would like to return.
